"Be the Boss" looks to take the formula that made "Undercover Boss" a hit and quite literally flip it on its head. Instead of one of the top people in the company heading into the trenches to see how things are going, this new series plucks two people from the bottom and lets them compete "Apprentice"-style to see which one of them is going to get rewarded with a big promotion.
In the premiere episode, the company featured was Complete Nutrition, and the competitors were a former beauty pageant contestant and a former Marine. Things seemed neck-and-neck in the competition, though it wasn't always clear what the higher-ups were looking for.
In the end, Jason was awarded the new executive vice president position, but that's when "Be the Boss" pulled the rug out and established itself as a feel-good reality show. Ashley didn't go away empty-handed. She was the show's actual big winner, getting her own Complete Nutrition franchise. Everybody wins!
Keep the good feelings going by watching "Be the Boss" every Sunday at 10 p.m. ET on A&E.
