Time Senior National Correspondent and author Michael Grunwald joined HuffPost Live Monday and said that national political media has a hard time covering today's Republican party.
"We have to figure out a way to cover a modern Republican party that is incapable of standing up for its beliefs, whatever those beliefs are," Grunwald told HuffPost Live host Marc Lamont Hill.
Grunwald attributed the media's difficulty to "the Republican party's trip to crazy town," and added that most reporters are more interested in covering the horse race than public policy.
"When they do [cover public policy], when we have this one party that essentially is not dealing in the facts right now...we're not comfortable saying, 'Hey, that's bull!'" Grunwald said. "We have to pretend to agree that they're not full of it."
