WASHINGTON -- A ticket to see Yo-Yo Ma at the Kennedy Center on Monday night started at $50 and went up to $175. But for a few lucky elementary school students, they'll have a private lesson with the world famous cellist on Tuesday.

Cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who has won a Grammy Award, National Medal of Arts and Presidential Medal of Freedom, will join dancer Damian Woetzel at Savoy Elementary School in the Anacostia neighborhood on Tuesday for two classes and a performance.

Sponsored by the Washington Performing Arts Society, the largest provider of arts education to the D.C. Public Schools, the two artists are participating in the organization's outreach program.

Other presentations include brass musicians from the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela at Bruce Monroe Elementary School in D.C.'s Park View neighborhood, a workshop for the Montgomery County Youth Orchestra by violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, a master class given by internationally-acclaimed pianist Angela Hewitt and a master class by flautist Sir James Galway.
