Georgia police have released surveillance video of a robber who shot two employees during a robbery at the American Deli in Atlanta.
According to Officer John Chafee, of the Atlanta Police Department, an unknown male suspect entered the Cascade Avenue deli at about 3 p.m. Thursday. After waiting his turn in line, the suspect allegedly pulled out a silver handgun and demanded money from the cashier.
"Bitch, give me the drawer, and put your hands up," the armed robber said, according to the police report.
After filling a bag with an unknown amount of cash, the suspect fired three shots, hitting two employees. A cashier, identified as Santana Tanner, was shot in the stomach and a male employee, identified as Jose Arreola, was hit in the left arm.
The shooter, police said, ran, spilling coins as he fled the scene. It’s unclear what prompted him to shoot the restaurant employees.
Chafee said the gunman, who should be considered armed and dangerous, was described as black male wearing a hoodie and baggy blue jeans.
According to CBS Atlanta, the shooting victims are doing OK, but are "obviously shaken up."
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Atlanta Police Commercial Robbery Unit at 404-546-4255 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Callers to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2000.
