Best New Artist Grammy nominees have been announced, with Frank Ocean among those who will face off at the Feb. 10 broadcast of the 55th Annual Grammy Awards.

The Alabama Shakes, fun., Hunter Hayes, The Lumineers round out the list of Best New Artist nominees. Notable omissions include Carly Rae Jepsen and Mumford & Sons.

The 2013 crop features some expected faces. In pre-nomination coverage, Rolling Stone rated Frank Ocean as the favorite in the crop, with Carly Rae, Lumineers and 1D in close contention. Interestingly, the magazine did not think Gotye, whose "Somebody That I Used to Know" became a global sensation, had much of a chance.

Last year, Justin Vernon's Bon Iver took home the award, beating out The Band Perry, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj and Skrillex. Skrillex, however, took home three trophies of his own, his first Grammys.
