'Extreme Couponing' Proposal: Man Surprises His Girlfriend With Engagement Ring At Checkout Counter (VIDEO)

Briana and Jose were a young couple in love on "Extreme Couponing." They wanted to get married and had a plan to get Briana the ring she wanted. Needing $2,000, the idea was to save up their grocery savings until they had enough to afford the ring.

But Jose had a plan of his own, and he sprung it on Briana during her biggest shopping day yet. It was the perfect distraction to ensure she didn't see it coming. He proposed to her at the register, even using a coupon she got at the register for the moment.

"I want to spend the rest of my life with you," he said, down on one knee. "There’s many reasons why I want to be with you. I love you. Will you marry me?"
