Record of the Year nominees at the 2013 Grammy Awards include Gotye, Frank Ocean, The Black Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift and fun.

The Record of the Year category at the Grammys "recognizes the artist’s performance as well as the overall contributions of the producer(s), recording engineer(s) and/or mixer(s) if other than the artist," according to Grammy.org.

Gotye was nominated for the hit song "Somebody That I Used to Know"; fun. earned its nomination for the Top-40 staple "We Are Young"; Swift, who was co-hosting the Grammy Nominations Concert Live! with LL Cool J, was nominated for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" (her album, "Red," did not get released in time to be eligible for the 2013 Grammy Awards, however); Kelly Clarkson grabbed a nomination for "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)"; The Black Keys were picked for "Lonely Boy"; and Frank Ocean was highlighted for "Thinkin About You."

At the 54th annual Grammy Awards in 2012, Adele won for Record of the Year for "Rolling in the Deep."
