After Liz Lemon's whirlwind surprise wedding last week, she had major best friend troubles this week on "30 Rock." Apparently Jenna was planning a surprise wedding of her own, and Liz stole her thunder. So she started plotting her revenge, which was to steal the spotlight from Liz somehow and have her surprise wedding at an event where Liz was getting an award.
While there, Liz commiserated with another woman who knows a thing or two about powerful best friends. Gayle King Tweeted that she had a blast playing herself, talking in veiled language about her friendship with Oprah Winfrey.
"You know what my best friend did for my 50th birthday?" King said. "She gives everybody a car, and then she’s all, 'Thank you for coming to Gayle’s birthday!'" The last line she did in a great impression of Winfrey's excited giveaway voice.
When Liz tried to clarify that they were obviously talking about Winfrey, King said, "No, of course not," quietly adding, "She can hear us."
In the end, Jenna crashed the funeral of Jack's ever-disapproving mother. Knowing she wouldn't approve of this either, Jack seemed amused by the interruption. And just like that, both leading ladies on this show are now married.
