The Duke of Cambridge, a patron of Centrepoint charity, attended the Winter Whites Gala in London last night (his first post-hospital appearance!) to continue his work aiding the homeless. Will was joined by tennis pros and celebrities but went to the event alone, since Kate had to cancel the black-tie engagement as she is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, an acute form of morning sickness.
Of course, Prince William played the part of the supportive husband, trading in his off-duty Asics sneakers and cords for a tux and fielding questions about the royal pregnancy. According to The Telegraph, the 30-year-old received plenty of congratulations and even joked about Kate's condition to Michael O'Higgins, former Centrepoint chairman.
"I don’t know why they call it morning sickness –- they should call it all day and all night sickness. It’s a long old process but she is getting there. She feels like it is going to go on forever,” O'Higgins said, recounting his conversation with the duke.
The Duchess of Cambridge has had to cancel many of her upcoming engagements, and we're sure she must be itching to get back into her LK Bennett pumps and Alexander McQueen dresses. A royal aide echoed this sentiment to Us Weekly: "Catherine is sad not to be at the event. She was really looking forward to it."
It looks like William will be attending events stag for the foreseeable future, so royal baby bump watch will have to be put on hold as poor Kate recovers. In the meantime, check out photos of Prince William looking pretty dapper in a tux at the winter wonderland-themed event last night. Dressing for two, Will?
