What a day. First Gmail was down for around 18 minutes and Google Drive experienced a short outage, and now Facebook is down for many users.

What. Is. Going. On.

Users are reporting the outage started around 6PM ET. While some of us here at HuffPostTech are able to log on to Facebook just fine, others are reporting an error message when they try to stalk their exes/procrastinate/post selfies. We've reached out to a Facebook spokesman for more information.

Cue tweets about spiking productivity and the Mayan apocalypse.

UPDATE (6:43p.m.): Many Facebook users are reporting the social network is back up. We've reached out to Facebook to explain the cause of the outage and we'll update this story accordingly.

UPDATE (7:45p.m.): A Facebook spokesperson said in a statement: ""Earlier today we made a change to our DNS infrastructure and that change resulted in some people being temporarily unable to reach the site. We detected and resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100 percent. We apologize for any inconvenience."
