Here’s an interesting pairing -- Blockbuster director J.J. Abrams with Y Tu Mamá También mastermind Alfonso Cuarón. Well believe it or not, that’s exactly what’s happening in the form of a new TV pilot called "Believe."

Cuarón happens to be one of Mexico’s most innovative directors (as evidenced by his 2004 Harry Potter film). And for "Believe," he’s crafted a very imaginative story about a young girl with magic powers.

Cuarón is set to direct the pilot, while Abrams will be taking on a producer role via his Bad Robot company. Warner Bros. will be the studio behind the project, which has yet to cast any leads.

For fantasy film buffs, this is actually huge news. Alfonso hasn’t sat in the director’s chair for over six years, so if he’s throwing his weight into "Believe," it’s got to be good!
