With December 21, 2012 looming, viewers learned that Virginia fully believed that the Mayan Apocalypse was real on "Raising Hope." For years, she's been using "Extreme Couponing" methods to stockpile against the coming end of days.
She even had her family training to fight mutant zombies and/or aliens, which is one of the reasons Burt couldn't bring himself to tell her it wasn't going to happen. He was having too much fun. Plus, the stockpile had some good eats in it.
But Virginia was crushed when the day came and went and the world was still standing. She thought she'd finally be able to prove she was a good mother. When Rosa's family showed up -- having blown all of their money and sold everything because of the apocalypse -- she sprang into action. The stockpile helped get Rosa's family back on their feet and on their way.
So, in the end, while it wasn't the end of the world, Virginia was still able to help one family come back from a personal apocalypse of sorts. And, she proved that she was taking care of her family first with all her planning.
Keep laughing along with "Raising Hope" every Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
