We were struck by sudden urges to hop the pond yesterday when we realized "Viva Forever," the much-anticipated Spice Girls musical, was finally debuting at London's Piccadilly Theatre.
But if we had actually gone to the Tuesday premiere and arrived early, we would have missed one very important person: Victoria Beckham.
Melanie Chisholm ("Sporty"), Emma Bunton ("Baby"), Geri Halliwell ("Ginger") and Melanie Brown ("Scary") arrived together, posing for their screaming fans on the red carpet. But where was "Posh" a.k.a. Victoria Beckham? Reportedly stuck in traffic. [Ed. note: we thought celebrities weren't subjected to such mundane human inconveniences like traffic. Don't they all have personal helicopters to hop right over such things?]
In any event, Beckham's tardiness allowed her to have her own glorious red carpet moment. When she finally arrived, she struck her signature pose with her superstar hubby, David, and her three adorable sons by her side. She then deigned to pop into a few Spice Girls photos with her bandmates and finally, after keeping the audience waiting for the play to begin, filed into the theater two rows behind the rest of the Girls.
Never change, Victoria.
