The Year's Best Dramas According To The Golden Globes

The best movie drama Golden Globes nominees include "Argo," "Lincoln," "Zero Dark Thirty," "Life of Pi" and "Django Unchained."

The 70th annual Golden Globe nominations were announced on Thursday, Dec. 13. "Les Miserables" and "Silver Linings Playbook" were among the films honored in the Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy category.

The Best Motion Picture - Drama category played out as expected. "Lincoln," "Argo" and "Zero Dark Thirty" are three of the best-reviewed movies of 2012, and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association couldn't ignore the work turned in by, respectively, directors Steven Spielberg, Ben Affleck and Kathryn Bigelow. TK and TK were the other nominees in the category.

At the 69th annual Golden Globes, "The Descendants" defeated "The Help," "The Ides of March," "Moneyball," "War Horse," and "Hugo" in the Best Motion Picture - Drama category. All of those films except "The Ides of March" also received Oscar nominations in the Best Picture category.
