Los Angeles Google Searches For 2012: Sports Teams, Education And Traffic

We Are What We Google: A Look At LA's Top Search Terms For 2012

If we are what we Google, then Angelenos are obsessed with sports, education and traffic -- at least, according to this list of our Top Ten most googled search terms for 2012.

LA's list is mostly full of evergreen terms -- Lakers, the SigAlert and LADWP (probably for its online billing) -- but it's interesting to see which news items made the cut and which ones didn't.

For example, there isn't much overlap with the nation's most-Googled list. The U.S. and LA both searched for "Whitney Houston" and "Olympics 2012," but LA's list doesn't include "Elections 2012" (maybe because the race is always a landslide for Democrats?) or KONY 2012 and Michael Clarke Duncan, despite the fact that the KONY 2012 campaign started in Southern California and Michael Clarke Duncan died at Cedars-Sinai hospital.

Check out LA's top Googled terms in the slideshow below and see how they compare to Google searches nationwide.
