'Fox & Friends' Bash Andrea Mitchell On Susan Rice: Race And Gender 'Have Nothing To Do With It' (VIDEO)

WATCH: 'Fox & Friends' Bash Andrea Mitchell

"Fox & Friends" hosts Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade seemed perturbed on Friday.

The morning show hosts discussed Amb. Susan Rice withdrawing her name for consideration for secretary of state on Thursday. After the news broke, MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell garnered a lot of attention when she commented that Rice's withdrawal will "not help Republicans," and noted that "a woman of color has been forced out of a confirmation process even before she was nominated."

Doocy, Carlson and Kilmeade were among Mitchell's critics. "What I thought was totally out of bounds was what Andrea Mitchell said yesterday in her evaluation and analyzing what this means in terms of politics with [Rice] backing out," Kilmeade said. He continued, his voice raised half an octave, "She brought up the gender factor and the race factor!"

"It has nothing to do with it," Carlson said over Kilmeade, who also called Mitchell's comments "crazy."

"We've seen this a lot, this kind of talk from the left, over the last couple of months," Doocy said. Carlson then commented that as a proponent for "women seeking high positions," she staunchly disagreed with Mitchell. "I'm not sure [race and gender have] anything to do with why Susan Rice will not be secretary of state."

"It absolutely does not," Doocy said.
