Russell Crowe and wife of nine years, Danielle Spencer, may have all but confirmed a separation back in October, but the Oscar winner is not giving up yet. On Twitter, the "Les Miserables" star said Wednesday that he would be focusing on his family. "As soon as I finish this job and can get home, my priority is to try to bring my family back together," he wrote. "These latest reports are false and cruel."
Crowe was likely addressing a report that ran in the New York Post earlier this week that claimed he had "taken a shine" to Billy Joel's ex-wife Katie Lee. "They seemed to be in an intense flirtatious conversation," a source for the publication said. "They looked really into each other." (Crowe's rep denied the rumor, saying that the actor and Lee were "just friends.")
On Oct. 14, news broke that Crowe, 48, and the Australian singer, 43, had split. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Crowe's hectic schedule -- which includes six films to be released in the span of a year -- had contributed to the fall-out of their marriage. Follow-up reports suggested that Spencer could walk away with as much as $25 million.
Crowe appeared to confirm that his career had interfered with his personal life in a message he posted to Twitter two weeks ago. "I need to go home & be with my children. Cannot believe how f**ked up my schedule has become this year," he wrote.
