"Deadly Alibi" told the sordid story of Danny Paquette’s murder. Paquette was shot to death by his teenage stepdaughter Melanie's best friend Eric Windhurst after she told him that Paquette had raped and molested her.
New evidence led police to re-open the case after it went unsolved for twenty years, and they interviewed Melanie, who finally told the truth about her and Windhurst's involvement in Paquette's death. She insisted that she hadn't expected Windhurst to go through with it, and also stood by her accusations that Paquette had molested her.
Despite the allegations of molestation, Windhurst was sentenced to a minimum of 15 years in prison for the murder. As for Melanie, she was sentenced to 3 to 6 years in prison, though her sentence was reduced to 15 months.
