Blake Shelton knows a little something about marriage -- he finally tied the knot with longtime love Miranda Lambert in 2011 after dating her for five years.

So when he saw that his manager, Brandon Blackstock, was getting serious with his pal Kelly Clarkson, the country crooner made sure he played a role in their engagement.

"The Voice" coach -- whose team member Cassadee Pope was crowned the season 3 winner on Dec. 18 -- told Hollyscoop that he convinced Blackstock to pop the question to Clarkson.

“I told Brandon, 'Man, you need to grow up and you figure out that you need to marry this girl,'” Shelton, 36, revealed, adding that he told Blackstock he'd sing at their nuptials.

“I am going on the record saying, I will do the music at the wedding or whatever you want to do, I’ll be that guy,” Shelton said. “I will play for four hours if I have to, cause you need to get you[r] head out of your a** and ask that girl to marry you.”

And he did. Blackstock, the son of Clarkson's manager, Narvel Blackstock -- who is married to Reba McEntire -- got down on one knee and proposed to Clarkson with a yellow canary diamond on Dec. 14.

“I'M ENGAGED!!!!!" Clarkson, 30, announced on Twitter. "I wanted y'all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever.”

"I’m so glad he [proposed],” Shelton gushed to Hollyscoop. “He is one hardheaded dude and she is the best thing to happen to him.”
