Child Support Offender, Robert Sand, Arrested In Los Angeles

America's Most Wanted Deadbeat Dad Arrested

Federal prosecutors have arrested the country's "Most Wanted" deadbeat parent, the Associated Press reports.

New Yorker Robert Sand, 50, was arrested upon his arrival at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday after being deported from the Philippines. He was taken into custody last month in the Phillipines after accumulating more than $1.2 million in owed child support.

Over the last 10 years, Sand has underreported his income and moved from New York to Florida to Thailand to evade child support payments for his three children from two previous marriages.

The federal government's Office of the Inspector General maintains a list of the most wanted deadbeat parents on their website with information about their possible whereabouts and the sum of money they owe. They have updated Sand's mugshot with a banner that says "captured" since his arrest.
