Parents are concerned about teenagers sexting, but they're also worried about the laws that punish them. Alyona Minkovski hosted a discussion on HuffPost Live to explore sexting laws and what messages they send.
High school student Lexi Chandler told Minkovski that one of the unintended consequences of teen sexting in her school is how quickly a private message can go public.
“One of my friends, she actually sent a picture to her boyfriend,” Chandler said. “He sent it to all his friends, and now she’s in a deep depression because of it.”
Chandler and Minkovski were joined by Liz Kulze, author of the article, "Why Sexting Laws Are Part of the Problem,” Kim Tranell, a journalist and former Health Editor at “Seventeen Magazine,” Monica Vila, a mom and Founder of theonlineomom.com, and Katherine tucker, a college student.
