PS22 Chorus Sings Sandy Hook Tribute (VIDEO)

WATCH: PS22 Chorus' Touching Tribute To Sandy Hook Victims

Dozens of tributes have honoring the victims of Friday's school shooting in Newtown, Conn., have hit the Internet. But one in particular caught our eye.

The fifth-graders of the Staten Island-based PS22 Chorus released a video tribute that features their rendition of the school song of Sandy Hook Elementary School, as well as comforting words to the Newtown community.

Students in the chorus solemnly sing the school's anthem as they remember the 20 young students and 6 adults killed in the massacre. A few appear to wipe away tears.

The PS22 Chorus has been featured on "Oprah," "The Today Show," "Good Morning America" and at the 2011 Academy Awards, and has sung for President Barack Obama. Its videos have garnered tens of millions of views on YouTube. The Sandy Hook tribute was inspired by a fan's suggestion on Facebook. Choir director Gregg Breinberg wrote on the site:

I am extremely proud of the maturity, empathy, and love displayed yesterday by the PS22 Chorus when the kids recorded this tribute to the children, teachers, and families affected by the tragedy at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, CT. It was without a doubt the most difficult song for me and the kids to have to teach and learn respectively (for reasons that need not be explained), but in the end, I believe it was important and cathartic for all of us to do this. We hope it brings hope and inspiration to those who need it at this difficult time, and serves as a remembrance to all those who tragically lost their lives last week.

The PS22 Chorus isn't the first singing group to honor the victims in the wake of Friday's tragedy. The cold open on "Saturday Night Live" last weekend swapped its usual comedic introduction for a performance by the New York City Children's Chorus as a tribute to Sandy Hook victims. The children offered a second performance Monday morning on NBC's Today Show.
