Charlie Rose Settles Fair Wage Lawsuit With Intern

Charlie Rose's production company agreed to settle a lawsuit brought on by a former intern who claimed the company violated New York State labor laws by failing to pay her for work she completed.

The New York Times' Steven Greenhouse, who first reported news of the lawsuit back in March, wrote that Rose's production company will pay up to $250,000 in back wages to Lucy Bickerton and a group of 189 former interns.

Bickerton claimed that she worked 25-hours weekly during the summer of 2007, and was not compensated for her time. Bickerton is not the only unpaid intern to file a suit against a media company. A former unpaid intern at Harper's Bazaar filed a suit against magazine publisher Hearst for similar reasons.
