This year, new toys are so lame that we're turning to the '90s for gift-giving ideas, at least according to a report from MarketWatch. Orders for Ninja Turtles surged 1,402 percent this year and Furby was brought back for the first time since 2007.

But all this time travel has us wondering: what were we thinking? Were toys like Furby, Beanie Babies and Bop It really worth all the hype?
