Metro Detroit Snow Storm Continues Through Afternoon Commute, Could Reach Up To Six Inches

The heavy snow falling in Detroit on Wednesday isn't letting up yet. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory, with snow throughout southeast Michigan expected to continue into the evening and overnight.

Snow fall is set to last into mid morning in the thumb region of the state, and the affected areas are expected to receive between three and six inches. According to the Detroit Free Press, Wayne County is set to get five inches of snow or more, Macomb will get 4.5 inches or more and Oakland will get 4.5 inches.

Travelers passing through Detroit Metro Airport are experiencing excessive delays, celebrities included: Detroit rapper Big Sean posted a photo of snow-covered planes on Instagram:

Visibility could drop to one-half mile because of wind gusts blowing snow, which could also cause cars to drift.

So be careful on the roads. Wayne County commuters can use the tracker to see road conditions and locations of salt trucks.
