Some pretty great things were invented in 2012. The world was recently wowed by mind-controlled cybernetic limbs, reusable rockets and Google Glass, just to name a few.

And yet, with the calendar about to roll over to 2013, there are still a few things we wish our inventors had time to tackle this past year. Who wouldn't want, for example, a computer that talked back to you like a real person? Or automated medical checkups? Or a dinosaur clone?

OK, that last one might be a little dangerous. That said, it's among the seven things we'd love to see invented over the next 12 months. Some are truly life saving; others might be just fun. All are worth thinking on, and we at HuffPost Tech are eager to hear what you think. Take a peek at this slideshow and then tell us in the comments or tweet @HuffPostTech. What do you think still needs to be invented?
