Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb returned from their holiday break and and announced their show would undergo one major change: no more wine.

The ladies sat behind empty wine glasses on their Monday show and announced that they would not be drinking for a month. Wine has become a signature part of the fourth hour of the "Today" show, almost as essential as Gifford and Kotb.

"We have a big dilemma," Gifford said. She announced that Ladies Home Journal asked the co-hosts to give up drinking for one month. "I think we should have gone for February, the short month, but apparently, it's January," Kotb said. The one month begins on Tuesday, so the co-hosts poured their final glass of wine.

"Cheers to the end," Kotb said.

"A lot of people are doing this. It's a new year and they're all trying to cut back in whatever ways they can," Gifford said.

Can they do it? We'll have to wait and see.
