Melissa Joan Hart Resolves To Put Her Phone Down And Pay Attention To Her Kids (VIDEO)

It isn't always easy to put down our gadgets and pay attention to what's right in front of us. Actress Melissa Joan Hart struggles with the whole disconnect-to-reconnect thing, too, and she's vowed to do something about it. Her New Year's resolution is to be on her phone less and concentrate on her kids.

“[Brady] will be talking to me and he’s like, ‘Mommy, put the phone down. Look at me, talk to me,’” Hart said while co-hosting "Anderson Live" on Thursday.

Hart is the mother of three boys, Mason Walter, almost 7; Brady Hart, 4; and Tucker McFadden, 3 months.

Here at HuffPost Parents, we're big fans of putting our digital devices in their place. Last summer, Executive Lifestyle Editor Lori Leibovich went on a "digital diet" where she ditched her iPhone (except to take pictures) during a vacation with her family. "[It] felt exhilarating to use my hands for digging tunnels in the sand and turning the pages of a novel instead of just for tapping away on a screen. For the first time in I don't know how long, I was really seeing my kids. And they were relishing being seen," Leibovich wrote. And though a life without technology isn't realistic, Leibovich reminds us that "gadgets have an 'off' button and that we need to remember to use it."
