On an episode of "Ellen" that aired Wednesday, Bravo reality star Bethenny Frankel opened up about her recent divorce from Jason Hoppy, telling DeGeneres that the split made her "feel like a failure."

In the March 2012 issue of <a href="http://www.townandcountrymag.com/">Town and Country,</a> Wilde <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/02/olivia-wilde-divorce-made_n_1250693.html">opened up</a> about the difficult split. "When you go through a breakup, you lose faith for a while," she <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/02/olivia-wilde-divorce-made_n_1250693.html">told the magazine</a>. "It makes you feel like such a failure."

  • Howard Stern

    Shock jock Howard Stern and first wife Alison Berns <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/howard-stern-felt-failure-marriage-ended-sex-cope-divorce-article-1.122999">divorced in 2001</a>, after <a href="http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/42110092/ns/today-entertainment/t/howard-stern-divorcing-first-wife-blew-my-mind/#.UO3uHYnjlTE">more than 20 years of marriage</a>. A decade later, <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/howard-stern-felt-failure-marriage-ended-sex-cope-divorce-article-1.122999">he opened up</a> about the painful breakup of his marriage to Rolling Stone. "[Getting a divorce] felt like such a failure," <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/howard-stern-felt-failure-marriage-ended-sex-cope-divorce-article-1.122999">Stern told the magazine.</a> "It's so complicated, and it's hard for me even to figure out at this point what went wrong and how things that were so good could go so bad. It's tough. I think I'll spend the rest of my life trying to analyze that."

    In June 2010, Ilusion Millan <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20391564,00.html">filed for divorce</a> from "Dog Whisperer" Cesar Millan, her husband of 16 years. "I felt defeated, a big sense of guilt and failure," Cesar <a href="http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2012/11/16/dog-whisperer-cesar-millan-reveals-suicide-attempt/1708411/">wrote on his blog after the split.</a> "I was at the lowest level I had ever been emotionally and psychologically." Two years later, in a Nat Geo Wild documentary, the canine expert <a href="http://articles.latimes.com/2012/nov/16/entertainment/la-et-mg-cesar-millan-dog-whisperer-suicide-attempt-20121116">revealed that he had attempted suicide</a> in May 2010 after his marriage had ended and his dog Daddy had <a href="http://voices.yahoo.com/dog-whisperer-cesar-millans-daddy-dies-16-5532681.html?cat=53">died of cancer</a>.

  • Susan Sarandon

    Susan Sarandon and longtime partner Tim Robbins were <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20641513,00.html">never officially married</a>, but their <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/14/susan-sarandon-tim-robbins_n_1345888.html">23-year relationship</a> lasted far longer than <a href="http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,2098279_2098285_2098286,00.html">many celebrity unions</a>. In 2012, the actress <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/14/susan-sarandon-tim-robbins_n_1345888.html">spoke to Reuters</a> about the <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20332851,00.html" target="_hplink">2009 breakup</a>. "Of course you feel like a failure," Sarandon said. "It's a big deal, but again, it's an opportunity to grow."

    After a <a href="http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20107967,00.html">reportedly abusive four-year marriage</a>, Roseanne Barr <a href="http://articles.baltimoresun.com/1994-04-19/news/1994109181_1_tom-arnold-roseanne-abused-wife">filed for divorce</a> from Tom Arnold back in 1994. In 1998, the "True Lies" actor <a href="http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=VeRNAAAAIBAJ&sjid=N_0DAAAAIBAJ&pg=2670,5490797&dq=felt-like-a-failure+divorce&hl=en">opened up to Cosmopolitan</a> about his feelings on the split and the perception of divorced men. "I felt like a failure. I was not only a one-time loser, but also secondhand goods," <a href="http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=VeRNAAAAIBAJ&sjid=N_0DAAAAIBAJ&pg=2670,5490797&dq=felt-like-a-failure+divorce&hl=en">he said</a>. "But then I realized that times have changed. Secondhand clothes are now called vintage and are incredibly popular. Used cars are often considered classics, and famous dead people's knick-knacks are valuable collector's items. In other words, I was hot and very much in vogue -- prime rib for the single woman on the prowl."
