The stage is set for Hollywood's biggest night. Oscar nominations for the 2013 Academy Awards were announced Thursday morning, with Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone ushering in a new class of nominees.

A number of expected names were read on Thursday. Best Picture will see "Zero Dark Thirty," "Lincoln," "Argo," "Life of Pi," and "Amour" battling it out come Feb. 24, the night of the awards broadcast (MacFarlane is on hosting duty that night too).

The nominees for Best Actor were Daniel Day-Lewis, Hugh Jackman, Denzel Washington, Bradley Cooper and Joaquin Phoenix, with Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, Quvenzhané Wallis, Naomi Watts and Emmanuelle Riva competing for Best Actress.

The Best Director race is also quite well-stacked, with past winners Steven Spielberg ("Lincoln") and Ang Lee ("Life of Pi") competing with David O'Russell, Michael Haneke and Benh Zeitlin.

Statues are handed out to those who collect the most votes from members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a group made up of working professionals in cinema. More information on the voting process is available at the Academy's website. The Golden Globes -- which take place Sunday -- are not voted on by members of the industry, but by the Hollywood Foreign Press.

A full list of nominees will be added to this post once they're all announced. A live-blog of Oscars season is available below, as is a gallery of those honored. Be sure to head back to HuffPost Entertainment for coverage of all things awards.
