Ben Affleck Accepts Award With Scribbles On His Hands (PHOTOS)

Ben Affleck Is Like Any Other Dad

He may be a renowned actor and critically acclaimed director, but, at heart, Ben Affleck is still just a dad.

Accepting the best director honor for his feature film "Argo" at the 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards Thursday, Affleck appeared to have something peculiar on his hands. Upon closer inspection, the markings turned out to be some illegible scribbles, likely from one of his children.

The mishmash of doodles was hidden from view earlier in the evening when Affleck walked the red carpet. But, holding his best director award on the stage, the scribbles were in plain sight, the Daily Mail noted.

Affleck, who appeared to be in complete shock when Ray Liotta announced he won best director, may not have anticipated he would get any stage time Thursday evening.

But, then again, the doting father-of-three may have decided to wear the scribbles with pride to the award show.

The 40-year-old actor and director recently told Us Weekly that having a family makes life much richer. "They're most important in my life," Affleck said of wife Jennifer Garner and their three children, 7-year-old Violet, 4-year-old Seraphina and infant son Samuel, who will turn 1 this year.
