There was a lot of political maneuvering going on during the latest hour of "Scandal." The First Lady was boldly pretending that the President had come out of his coma, while the acting president was doing what she could to secure control of the White House. It was a back-and-forth that saw both sides getting bolder and more threatening.
So it was a great relief to Olivia Pope -- who was backing the First Lady's play -- when she got a phone call toward the end of the hour.
"Hi," the president said. He had survived the assassination attempt, though that doesn't mean he's going to be able to easily step back into his duties as president. Especially considering his vice president already kind of took the job from him while he was out.
Things should get very interesting on the next few episodes of "Scandal," Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
