Fresh off her Golden Globes win for Best Supporting Actress, "Les Miserables" star Anne Hathaway has apparently found her next film. According to TheWrap, Hathaway will star in an updated version of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew." Abi Morgan ("Shame") will write the script.

The Shakespeare comedy has a somewhat misogynistic premise: The title "shrew" (an ill-tempered scolding woman) finds love with a nobleman who wears her down with various arrays of what Wikipedia calls "psychological torments." Not that pop culture hasn't successfully adapted the play before: Cole Porter's "Kiss Me Kate" was a musical adaptation of "Taming of the Shrew," while Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton starred in a 1967 adaptation. "The Taming of the Shrew" was even updated once before, in 1999's "10 Things I Hate About You," which starred Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the late Heath Ledger. That teen classic included this great moment.

How Morgan will adapt "The Taming of the Shrew" remains to be seen. (Idea: Hathaway plays the suitor, and someone like Gordon-Levitt is the title shrew.)

Hathaway's schedule has an opening now that "Robopocalypse" was delayed. The actress was set to co-star in Steven Spielberg's film, but the director bumped "Robopocalypse" from its spring start date to work on the script.
