On Monday night, "Sex And The City" fans everywhere finally got a peek inside the angst-ridden adolescent years of New York City fashionista and sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw.
As the show's star AnnaSophia Robb pointed out to HuffPost TV, The CW's "Carrie Diaries" is not meant to be an emulation of the HBO series. "It's a different show. Everyone has different expectations, and you can't please everyone," she said.
That being said, viewers (Snooki included) had strong reactions to "The Carrie Diaries" premiere.

Loving the music on The Carrie Diaries!!
"The Carrie Diaries" was better than I expected. Good casting, and FREEMA!

The Carrie Diaries is sweet. It has the same vibe as Sex and the City but not the sass. Could be fun #TVAddict
Shit I think I like The Carrie Diaries. Better not get too attached though, anything Schwartz and Savage touch turns to crap eventually.
Monday Overnights: Very lackluster start for The Carrie Diaries on The CW http://t.co/1ScSeiuo
Uh... The Carrie Diaries is kind of average. I don't see it becoming the hit that SATC was/is.

Just finished watching the first episode of The Carrie Diaries. I really liked it, I thought it was clever, relatable and very 80's :)
loving the carrie diaries, not quite filling the sex and the city void but that's what gossip girl is for. I wish I lived in the 80s
I enjoyed the pilot. The ending with her writing, sitting at her desk, in front of her window … ALL THE FEELINGS! #thecarriediaries #satc
CARRIE IS SO PRETTY I JUST #thecarriediaries
Not sure how I feel about #TheCarrieDiaries or if I should keep watching
