He's back, and as far as he's concerned, he's better. This month, Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in "The Last Stand," and the 65-year-old says that he just gets better with age.

"I got older. I got wiser. I experienced certain things as governor that helped me with my performance," Schwarzenegger said in an interview with CNN. "I think I'm better today than when I left the acting field."

When Schwarzenegger was elected governor of California in 2003, he stopped making movies. 2004's "Around the World in 80 Days" was his last film until he completed his term in office and made "The Expendables" and "The Expendables 2."

Schwarzenegger's current role in "The Last Stand" is his first lead role since his stint as governor. While he laments his age in the trailer for the film, "The Last Stand" is being heralded as a classic Schwarzenegger action film, one reviewer calling it "the sort of crazy b-movie action romp we haven’t seen from Schwarzenegger since the mid-1980s."

"The Last Stand" hits theaters on Jan. 18.
