One thing Jodie Foster touched on in her long and memorable Golden Globes speech was how difficult it has been for her to be in the public eye, working, since a very young age.

"I have given everything out there, from the time I was three years old," she said.

    Tina Yothers first starred in television commercials at the age of three. She is best known for her role as Jennifer Keaton on the NBC series "Family Ties."

  • Peter Billingsley (41)

    Before he became the poster boy for leg lamps and Red Ryder BB Guns, "A Christmas Story" star Peter Billingsley got his start in Hollywood as an infant model for television commercials. He went on to land gigs with Lifesavers as well as a role as Messy Marvin in a <a href="">series of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup commercials </a>in the 1980s.

    Jerry Mathers, better known as "The Beaver" from the iconic television show "Leave It To Beaver," first starred in a PET Milk commercial at the age of two.

  • Dakota Fanning (18)

    Dakota Fanning started her acting career when she was 3, participating in a local Georgia theater. Her parents <a href="">were encouraged to take their daugher</a> to Los Angeles where, after finding an agent and attending several auditions, Fanning landed her first national campaign, a Tide commercial, at 5. Fanning has gone on to star in major films such as "I Am Sam," "Hide and Seek" and "War of the Worlds."

  • Lorenzo and Nikolas Brino (14)

    Lorenzo and Nikolas Brino, two of the Brino quadruplets who played the role of twins Sam and David Camden on the TV show "7th Heaven" <a href="">began playing the twins</a> in 2001. They started shooting the series at just 5 months old.

  • Shirley Temple (84)

    Shirley Temple is one of the best known child stars ever, grabbing the No. 18 spot on AFI's list of the greatest female American screen legends of all time. She began her acting career in 1932 at the age of three. Her breakthrough role was in the 1934 film "Bright Eyes."

  • Bryton James (26)

    Bryton James <a href="">landed his role</a> as Richie on "Family Matters" at the age of three. He remained on the show throughout its nine years on television. Following the end of the series, James went on to finish school, live abroad and he even recorded a single. He now plays Devon Hamilton on "The Young and the Restless."

  • Hayden Panettiere (23)

    Hayden Panettiere began appearing in television commercials at 11 months old. She was then cast in the soap opera "One Life to Live" at the age of four.

  • Jodie Foster (50)

    Jodie Foster began her acting career at the age of three, <a href="">starring in several commercials</a>. This included her well known gig in a Coppertone sunblock commercial. She has gone on to become one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood.

  • Drew Barrymore (37)

    Before the age of one, Drew Barrymore had appeared in her first commercial, a spot for the dog food Puppy Choice. Her big break came at seven, though when she was cast as Gertie in the 1982 film "E.T.: The Extraterrestrial."
