Nikki Reed just celebrated -- and mourned -- the end of the "Twilight Saga" franchise, but just because she's got a little extra time on her hands, doesn't mean she's ready to start a family.
The 24-year-old actress told HuffPost Celebrity that she and hubby Paul McDonald, 28, are basking in newlywed bliss and aren't too concerned with expanding their brood.
"We talk about having kids," Reed explained. "I like that we talk about it a lot, so I feel like we’re going to be really prepared ... Well hopefully." She added, "I don’t know if anyone is ever really prepared. It’s one of those things that happens when it supposed to happen. So, I don’t know if it’s going to happen right now, but eventually."
As for married life, Reed says she and McDonald are loving it.
"It’s great!" she gushed, explaining that the pair have been traveling around promoting their EP, "The Best Part," which was released in November. "We are enjoying playing music together," she continued. " It’s kind of like we’re on vacation because we get to go and sing, but it’s really about the fact that we get to do it together. That we write together, that we record together that we take our album photographs together. It's a way of just bonding."
Plus, Reed admits it helps to keep the spark alive!
"When it comes to being newlyweds -- I know it’s been like a year, almost a year and a half, but we’re still newlyweds -- it’s sweet because it creates a very romantic environment to go and do all this singing together," she said.
Reed was busy in NYC on Jan. 16, helping Gillette kick off its 15-city Kiss & Tell Live National Experiment in Times Square by asking women which kiss is best: a kiss with stubble or smooth-shaven skin? As for what she prefers, Reed likes baby-smooth skin.
"I don’t like a stubbly kiss, I don’t think anyone does! It’s pretty painful," she told HuffPost Celebrity. "But Paul generally rocks a longer beard and that’s not painful, so I’m fine with that. I do like when he shaves his face though," she added. "It makes him look like 10 years younger … it’s like kissing a little boy!"
