Oprah Winfrey has called her exclusive interview with Lance Armstrong the "biggest" of her entire career. Filmed during a two-and-a-half hour session in Austin, Texas, on Monday, the first segment will air Thursday on OWN, coming together so quickly that even Winfrey's best friend, Gayle King, has not seen it yet.
“I am going to be glued to my TV like everyone else to see,” King, who hosts "CBS This Morning," told The Huffington Post. In an interview with Gayle on her show, Oprah did say, “We were mesmerized and riveted by some of his answers," adding that Lance says what "people around the world have been waiting to hear."
“It all just came together for her within the past week," King told the New York Daily News. "I called her when I first heard. I didn’t wait until she announced it."
"She was really into it. Because it came together so quickly, she knew what an important interview it was for her," King said. "She also knew that she was going to have to ask the hard questions."
