Gov. John Hickenlooper Makes Good On Bet, Sends Lamb Chops To Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper grilled lamb chops Thursday in front of the capitol, that are making their way to Maryland.

"We're here to settle a debt with Gov. Martin O'Malley," Hickenlooper said, referring to the game the Broncos lost on Saturday to the Baltimore Ravens.

“This was one of the toughest defeats I’ve ever watched, but what a game! And you do learn more from defeat than you do victory,” Hickenlooper said. “Even if you have the best quarterback and the best coach in football, and we do, nobody can be perfect every time out. Our disappointment aside, we are proud of the Denver Broncos and happy to settle our bet with Gov. O’Malley with some of the best lamb chops on earth.”

If the Broncos had won the game, O’Malley would have sent 12 Chesapeake Bay crab cakes to Colorado.

"Not really sure that Gov. O'Malley really even knows how to cook a lamb chop, that's why I brought the Millers down here," Hickenlooper said, adding, "There's no point in sending a dozen Colorado Proud lamb chops to Annapolis, Md. if they're not going to be appreciated as they deserve."

On Twitter, O'Malley responded:
