Now that the US is done with it, the glamor of "Gossip Girl" is headed to Mexico.

In the trailer for "Gossip Girl Acapulco" (below), Serena, Blair, Dan, Nate, Chuck and the rest of the gang have been replaced with a set of Latino actors, with the skyscrapers of Manhattan traded for palm trees.

Produced by Pedro Torres, Mexico's state-run Notimex news agency reports that in Acapulco version, "the drama has become tropical without losing its essence."

Mexico isn't the first country to take on the drama of the Upper East Side. In March, the LA Times reported that China was launching "China Girl" with creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage consulting. Originally set to premiere in November, the series had not yet aired.
