Justin Bieber's Twitter Is Most-Followed, Overtakes Lady Gaga

Justin Bieber Has A New Title

All hail Justin Bieber, King Of Twitter! On Tuesday, teen heartthrob Justin Bieber overtook Lady Gaga as the Twitter user with the most followers, BBC reports.

Bieber has around 33.33 million followers, while Gaga has about 33.32 million followers. Neither Gaga nor Bieber publicly commented on the news as of Tuesday morning. You can closely watch their Twitter battle at TwitterCounter.com.

Bieber only recently reached 33 million followers, and his fans celebrated by using the hashtag #33MillionBeliebers.

Earlier in January, Bieber was the victim of a Twitter hoax, in which the hashtag #cutforbieber started trending, showing people inflicting self-harm, supposedly in reaction to photos that seemed to show Bieber smoking marijuana. The hoax was allegedly started by members of the Internet community 4chan.

On Instagram, Bieber's at 6.1 million followers, significantly more than Gaga who has around 724,000. Kim Kardashian still holds the top spot on Instagram, though, with 6.3 million followers.
