Ottawa skaters were left seeing double on Monday night when they returned to the bench during the Senators' home opener at Scotiabank Place.

Senators head coach Paul MacLean became an unlikely star of the night after cameras spotted his doppelgänger seated directly behind the team's bench. It wasn't long until the broadcasters, and everyone else, took notice.

The fan, who was identified as Mike Watson from Ottawa by Sportsnet, said he was just sitting in seats belonging to his company. His attire, he claimed, was not meant to spoof the head coach.

Senators stars Daniel Alfredsson, Kyle Turris, and Marc Methot couldn't help but laugh about the body double while speaking with the press after their 4-0 win over the Panthers.

"Apparently there's quite a resemblance," MacLean told reporters after the Senators' win, via USA Today Sports. "I hope he gets as much help as I do around town."
