Following Maria Kirilenko's third-round win at the Australian Open on Saturday, the post-match interviewer noticed that she was playing without her engagement ring.
Prompted, it didn't take long for Kirilenko to get it out of her bag. Kirilenko, who turns 26 on Friday, was then asked about her engagement to Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin.
"Oh my God!" gushed the interviewer, who had a hard time pronouncing Ovechkin's name. "It's a superstar ring ladies and gentlemen."
When asked if she and Ovie had set a wedding date yet, Kirilenko said the couple was "still thinking about it."
Kirilenko reached the quarterfinals, where she fell to Serena Williams.
The two Russian spots stars were first spotted together last year when Ovechkin accompanied Kirilenko to Wimbledon. On the final day of 2012, the NHL star announced the good news on his Twitter account.
