'Mudcats': Fishing In Hook-Infested Waters

Katt Daddy really should have known better. Anyone with any experience fishing knows the dangers of lost fishing hooks. On the latest episode of "Mudcats," though, Katt Daddy threw caution to the wind and went after a monster catfish, despite it being in what had come to be known as "trotline alley."

The area got that name because there are tons of abandoned fishing hooks there. Because of that, and because of the down-in-the-water physical nature of the way they go for catfish, nobody fishes in "trotline alley." But Katt Daddy would not be deterred. If he thought he could get away without getting hooked, though, he was in for a painful disappointment.

While being there at all was his first mistake, his second was jerking back when he got hooked on the back. The motion put the hook so deep into him, it couldn't simply be pulled out. No, it had to be dug out.

It took Doctor Dennis with some alcohol and a knife to dig the hook out of Katt Daddy's thick skin. The question now is whether or not Katt Daddy is thick-headed enough to head back into "trotline alley" the next time there's a monster catfish lurking about in there.

"Mudcats" airs every Sunday at 10 p.m. EST on National Geographic.
