Barbara Walters is now recovering from her injury — which she reportedly sustained when she fell on a step at the British ambassador's residence in Washington, D.C. — earlier in January.
The New York Post's Cindy Adams explained on Monday that there was more to Walters' injury than has been reported. Adams said that Walters had told her, "Had I missed a step, I’d have put my hand out automatically to help protect myself. But I did not misstep. What happened was, I fainted."
Adams reported that Walters was running a fever before heading down to D.C. for President Obama's inauguration and "told no one. Not even her doctor." After falling, Walters was hospitalized and doctors discovered that she had contracted chicken pox. Whoopi Goldberg updated viewers on Walters' condition on Monday's "The View."
"She’s OK now," Adams wrote about Walters. "She’s back in New York. She’s recuperating."
