A DIY Shaving Cream Recipe That Will Save You A Trip To The Store (VIDEO)

Save A Trip To The Store With This DIY Shaving Cream Recipe
I've
for three reasons:
  1. I hate those icky gel and foam shaving cream formulas.
  2. I always ended up as the bloody loser in battles with the razor.
  3. I've never had clean, shaved legs last more than four days.

But when you've got a last-minute invite to attend a party or the weather suddenly reaches a sheer tights-wearing temperature, shaving sounds more tempting than waxing. And it's especially appealing when you can make your own better-smelling and moisturizing shaving lotion.

In the video above, BellaSugar reporter Kirbie fills us in on a shaving cream recipe made from simple ingredients you likely have at home. Combine shampoo, conditioner and baby lotion (not only is this great for sensitive skin, but it adds a soothing scent and pretty pink hue) into a mason jar. Then pour in melted coconut oil (yes, our favorite super ingredient!). Give the concoction a good shake -- adding more conditioner if you'd like a thicker consistency or more shampoo to thin it out -- and you're ready to start shaving.

Have you tried homemade shaving cream? Was it better than the store-bought version? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section.
