Barbara Walters Home From The Hospital, Still Fighting Chicken Pox

Barbara Walters Home From Hospital

Barbara Walters has been released from a New York hospital after more than a week, ABC News announced on Tuesday night.

"Barbara Walters is at home resting comfortably and is getting stronger," the network said.

The 83-year-old fainted at the British ambassador's residence in Washington last week and had been hospitalized ever since. She has not been seen on "The View," which has been using guest hosts instead. On Tuesday, the New York Post reported that she had had a fever, but had told "no one" about it.

Walters is also a medical rarity -- ABC News said just one in every 10,000 adults contracts chicken pox.

The network did not indicate when she would be back on air.
