Scott Pelley has nabbed an interview with President Obama ahead of the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Obama's conversation with Pelley will air at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 3. The president's pre-game interview with the network broadcasting the Super Bowl is an annual tradition. Last year, he sat down with Matt Lauer on NBC News.
TV Newser reported that it spoke to Pelley earlier this month, at which point the White House had not yet confirmed the interview. "I would be surprised if they didn’t take advantage of this remarkable opportunity for the President to speak to one third of the people of this country at one time," the CBS News anchor said at the time.
The Super Bowl is the typically the most-watched television show in the country. 111.3 million people tuned in for the 2012 game, making the Super Bowl the most-watched television show for the third year in a row.
