WSU Faculty Union Seeks 10-Year-Contract In Advance Of Right-To-Work Enactment

Right To Work Spurs Change In Wayne Contact Negotiations

Wayne State University's faculty union wants the college to extend a labor contract under negotiation to 10 years from its previously requested four, a tactic the union president says is mindful of a state right-to-work law that takes effect in two months.

The American Association of University Professors, which has been negotiating a new contract with the university since early last year, has not yet received an administration response to the proposal on contract length, which it forwarded earlier this month, said Charles Parrish, president of the AAUP-American Federation of Teachers Local 6075.
