'Castle': Beckett Forced To Protect One Of Her Greatest Enemies

On the latest episode of "Castle," Beckett found herself face-to-face with Senator Bracken, the man responsible for her mother's death. He was now the target of an assassination plot, and while a part of her may have enjoyed just sitting aside and letting events play out, she's better than that. Still, it wasn't easy getting the assignment to protect him.

Especially when the senator seemed tor delight in her discomfort. "A shooter on the loose. Me in the crosshairs. Must be a dream come true for you," he said.

"In my dreams, I’m the one who gets to pull the trigger," she said. Instead, she helped keep the senator alive, despite some wavering throughout the hour. In fact, she physically saved him from a grisly demise, for which he said he was in her debt.

But Beckett won't be forgetting her words to him earlier in the episode. "When someone commits murder, whoever he is, Senator, I will bring him to justice," she had told him. "No matter how long it takes."

Debt or no debt, it's unlikely she will forget that vow. The drama continues on "Castle," Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
